INDORE: German officials of Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) visited Indore on Thursday to take stock of the facilities available for their colleagues, who plan to shift to Indore once the company starts its venture in Pithampur. However, officials accompanying them claim that social infrastructure in the city did little to impress them.
Around 250 engineers from Germany would be relocating to Indore once the project gets started.
“The main concerns of the Germans were schools for their kids, hospitals, hotels and other basic amenities,” said Kumar Purushottam, managing director (MD), Audhyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam (AKVN). The Germans were accompanied by AKVN officials. They paid a visit to Bombay Hospital, Daly College and other spots across the city. “We had also arranged a meeting of the company officials with real estate developers and representatives from other sectors. In the three-hour meeting, various queries were put up by the Germans regarding their concerns for their kids and families,” added Purushottam. However, official sources claimed that the Germans looked worried about the infrastructure in Indore.
Three major projects of Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group will be set up at Pithampur industrial area. Reliance ADAG semi-conductor manufacturing unit will come up at Pithampur (Sector-3), defence merchandise manufacturing factory in non-processing zone of Pithampur SEZ and data centre project in SEZ (special economic zone). The upcoming projects will be spread in an area of 100 acres each. The company has undertaken investment under MP government's analog semiconductor fabrication investment policy.
