VADODARA: Special operations group (rural) cops seized stolen aluminium pipes worth Rs one lakh from Vadodara taluka on Friday. The police seized the goods after they received a tip off that a tempo ferrying stolen aluminium pipes was to pass by Virat Estate.
Following the information, the police kept a watch and conducted an extensive search of vehicles passing by the estate.
Upon inspecting the truck they found the aluminium pipes and other metal scrap items.
Police also seized the vehicle valued at Rs 2 lakh. The driver of the tempo, Gulab Vanzara and his aide of Imtiaz Chaudhary were detained after they failed to produce the necessary documents.
According to the Varnama police, the accused came to Virat Estate in Khatamba village to sell off the aluminium pipes and metal scrap.
