PM directs NHA to upgrade DIK-Zhob section of N-50

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Friday directed the National Highway Authority to upgrade the D.I. Khan-Mughal Kot-Zhob section of N-50 to four lane dual carriageway after negotiating funding from the Asian Development Bank within a month.
The Prime Minister said if the required funding from the Asian Development Bank is unavailable, additional funding from Public Sector Development Program shall be provided as per requirement, said a press release issued here.
The Prime Minister has also directed for acquisition of land for the entire Western alignment of CPEC for a six lane, limited access motorway at this stage to ensure against any complications at a later stage.
The Prime Minister also constituted a committee to identify the potential sites for future industrial zones along the western route.
The committee shall comprise Chairman Board of Investment, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chief Secretary Balochistan, Chairman National Highway Authority, BS-21 officer each to represent Finance Division, Ministry of Industries and Production, Ministry of Water and Power, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources, and Secretary Board of Investment who will also be the Secretary of the said Committee.
Chairman Board of Investment shall be the convener of the Committee.
The committee will submit its report to the Prime Minister through Minister for Finance within fifteen days.
