Central govt. employees take out protest rally

A rally was taken out by the East Coast Railway Shramik Union (ECoRSU) from the railway station to the DRM’s Office on Friday as part of the black day being observed all over the country to protest against the recommendations of the 7{+t}{+h}Pay Commission. Addressing the participants, assistant general secretary of All India Railway Men’s Federation (AIRF) and president ECoRSU Ch Gandhi condemned the anti-labour policies of the Central Government and the recommendations of the 7{+t}{+h}Pay Commission which were ‘detrimental to the interests of workers’. A lunch-hour demo was conducted by ECoRSC . The union is opposed to the Pay Commission recommendations. Some of the important demands like re-introduction of Pension Scheme by abolishing the New Pension Scheme, fixing of minimum wages at Rs.26,000 as demanded by the Joint Council Machinery, 5 per cent increment of employees without any restrictions and increase of transport allowance to employees were not met.
