Factory workers detain officials

November 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - NIZAMABAD:

Workers in the Nizam Deccan Sugars Limited (formerly called Nizam Sugar Factory) at Bodhan detained Rizvi and two other representatives of the NDSL management in their office chambers demanding regularisation of their services on Friday.

Sensing trouble, the management called up police. Soon, the police led by Circle Inspector Ch. Venkanna rushed to the spot and prevailed upon the agitating workers to open doors for the release of detained officers.

Issue of regularisation

The striking workers initially refused to obey the orders saying that until the management issue orders to regularise their services, they would not open the doors.

When the management said that they would recommend the government which took over the factory recently, for their regularisation, the workers relented. The high drama lasted for 20 minutes.
