‘NC will take steps to resolve crisis’

Nepali Congress Vice President Ram Chandra Paudel today said his party would make concerted efforts to deal with the prolonged crisis in the country.

Inaugurating a four-room building of Kamdhenu Secondary School at Bhagawatipur VDC, Sabhung of Tanahun, on Friday, NC VP Paudel said Nepali Congress would take initiatives to ddress the demands of the agitating Madhes-based forces as well as remove the unilateral blockade on the Nepal-India border.

“Nepali Congress is committed to establishing peace by resolving the prolonged crisis. The country has already suffered a lot due to the decade-long insurgency and the ongoing Madhes agitation. Hence, our party will play a constructing role in settling these problems,” said Paudel.

He pointed out that the government should not keep mum at present, as it has been confronting various hurdles in the implementation of the new constitution. “Though we promulgated the new constitution braving all odds, Madhes-centric parties are trying to foil our achievement,” he claimed.

Paudel was of the opinion that country’s development was possible only through planned development of agriculture, tourism and hydro power.
