Ballard Estate Fest to roll out on X’mas weekend

MUMBAI: Nightlife in south Mumbai is expected to get more vibrant this December as Ballard Estate Festival makes a debut on Christmas weekend.
The Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT) will sign an agreement with an event management firm that will seek approvals from civic and police authorities.
MbPT chairman Ravi Parmar said, “The festival is likely to take place on December 26 and 27.” The MbPT has made it clear that the festival will be allowed only on weekends when offices in the area are closed.According to the MbPT, the festival will ensure creative use of space for outdoor experiences, recreations, promotion of arts and crafts, flea markets, entertainment, arts, crafts and tourism.
BJP MLA Ashish Shelar, who has been coordinating with the BMC and MbPT, said, “We hope to get all permissions.”
