Students draw attention of UN to humanitarian crisis

The students have urged the UNSG to ensure that the blockade ends. “This humanitarian crisis adds to the difficulties already faced by schools and students as a result of the earthquakes of April-May 2015,” reads the memorandum.
The memorandum was signed by Grishma Adhikari, Kaushal Adhikari, Pabitra Khatri, Kerina Maharjan, Prakash Neupane, Aaakash Pant, Alaukik N. Pant, Manish Sapkota, Shardul Sapkota and Rajshree Upadhyay on behalf of the high school and college students.
Earlier in the day, students from around Kathmandu valley had formed human chain to internationalise the impact of blockade in education sector. They were seen holding placards with slogans, "Bachna Deu, Pardna Deu " (Let Us Live, Let Us Study), "Hamro Bhawishya Andharkar Paarna Payidaina" (No one has the right to make our future dark).
