Carolina Panthers' Black Friday shopping list includes American Pharoah

Maybe the Panthers could use American Pharoah as a perk as they negotiate a long-term contract with cornerback and horse enthusiast Josh Norman. Al Bello/Getty Images

Invite to "Dancing with the Stars" for Cam Newton: Caylin Newton says his older brother has been a little "sloppy" with his dabbin.' Something about Cam's hands isn't right, Caylin says. If you're going to remain a candidate for the NFL MVP, you can't be sloppy about anything. Caylin, 17, also wants to see big brother mix it up and do other things beyond the Superman move and "dab." All this can be rectified with a few weeks battling for the mirror ball trophy on DWTS. Cam already wears men's capris, so the tight outfits shouldn't intimidate him.

New pair of cleats for Jonathan Stewart: The running back has to have worn out the ones he used to begin the season after six consecutive games of 20 or more carries. Before then, he had never had more than three such games in a row in his career. Throw in a pair of anti-compression fatigue socks, too. The Panthers will need Stewart with quick feet in the playoffs. Entering Thursday's game, he had forced 43 missed tackles, most in the NFL. Carolina doesn't want to lose that.

New contract (and horse) for Josh Norman: Perhaps general manager Dave Gettleman could break his policy against negotiating during the season and go ahead and get this done during the long Thanksgiving weekend. Make American Pharoah the bonus. Norman, who owns several horses, already has proved he deserves to be paid among the top five cornerbacks in the league, so go ahead and rearrange whatever you have to under the salary cap to get it done. That way there won't be questions about Norman's future when the Panthers reach the playoffs. Giddy-up.
