Newcastle Falcons secured their first win of the season when they ran in nine tries against Enisei-STM at Kingston Park.

Having picked up a bonus point away to Brive on the opening weekend, Newcastle Falcons now know that a good outcome to the back-to-back fixtures with Connacht next month will give them a great chance of advancing to the knockout stages.

This weekend they will try to start sorting out their dreadful Premiership form when they head to Sale Sharks tomorrow looking for their first points of the season having failed to glean anything from their opening four matches.

England sevens star Marcus Watson ran in four tries for the Falcons but No 8 Mark Watson was the first to notch a hat-trick in the landslide win over the Russians.

Winger Zach Kibirige crossed for two tries as Newcastle, ahead by 29-7 at the interval, pulled away in the second half.

Meanwhile, Brive will bid to continue their impressive start to the Top 14 when they travel to Oyonnax looking for their sixth win in nine games. They are currently fifth in the table.

They will entertain Enisei-STM in the back-to-back Challenge Cup clashes next month with their hopes of qualification still very alive having gained a deserved bonus point in the Sportsground after their opening-round win at home to Newcastle.
