More synergy sought with Montenegro

China is willing to further promote cooperation with Montenegro in railways and a thermal power plant, said Premier Li Keqiang on Nov 26.

The Premier met with Montenegro’s Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic attending Fourth Summit of China and Central and Eastern European Countries at the Great Hall of the People.

Bilateral relations between China and Montenegro go smoothly, said the Premier. China and Montenegro are important partners within the framework of the 16+1 mechanism. Next year marks the 10th anniversary since the two countries established diplomatic relations. China is willing to carry out mutual beneficial cooperation with Montenegro, he added.

Premier Li urged strengthened cooperation in the fields of ports, trade, parks, logistics, equipment manufacturing and transportation infrastructure. The Premier also said China hopes the first traditional Chinese medicine hospital will be put into use soon.

Djukanovic congratulated the successful hosting of the Fourth Summit of China and Central and Eastern European Countries. The “1+6” cooperative framework put forward by Premier Li gives directions for the development of bilateral relationships.

Montenegro supports the consensus reached in Suzhou for the cooperation in port areas of the Baltic, Adriatic and Black seas, Djukanovic said. Montenegro welcomes China to take part in the infrastructure building in Montenegro, he added.
