The 3,000 sq ft store spread across two floors at at 115-117 Commercial Street has separate menswear and womenswear areas as well as a gallery space on the lower ground floor.
The shopfit retains the building’s original brickwork and light wood flooring but adds black steel, mirrored-surfaced units and flashes of red paint.
Sarah Burton, creative director of Alexander McQueen, said: “Spitalfields is an area full of creative talent, as well as cultural and brand history, and we are returning to the roots of the house with the opening of this McQ store. The gallery space within the store will provide a platform for emerging artists, which is something that has always been close to the heart of the house.”
