FremantleMedia buys stake in Birmingham TV company

FremantleMedia has acquired a stake in an independent entertainment company founded by the executive producer behind programmes such as 10 Years Younger, Embarrassing Illnesses and How To Look Good Naked.

Birmingham-based Full Fat TV was launched by Colette Foster, the former managing director of Endemol label Remarkable TV, earlier this year.

Fremantle now holds a 25 per cent share in the business.

Foster said: "We are hugely excited about developing new standout factual entertainment programming and we am thrilled to be working with the team at FremantleMedia. They are terrific creative partners with an unrivalled network through which to develop programming and that is really exciting."

In her time at Remarkable TV, Foster launched and oversaw programme such as Supersize vs Superskinny, Secret Eaters, Bodyshockers and BBC2’s The House that £100K Built.

Prior to this she developed 10 Years Younger, Embarrassing Illnesses and How To Look Good Naked.

FremantleMedia's global chief executive Cecile Frot-Coutaz added: "Colette has a strong vision of what she wants to achieve and she is one of the most successful and respected creatives in the UK.

"Full Fat TV is a great complement to our existing portfolio and we’re looking forward to working with her on what will be a great slate of programming."
