A Manhattan housekeeper is trying to take the family of an iconic Italian fashion house to the cleaners, labeling them in a lawsuit as rich cheapskates who don’t pay overtime.
Rosemarie Byndloss says in her Manhattan federal suit filed Wednesday that Judith Missoni and her husband, Luca Missoni, of the high-end Missoni clothing line failed to pay her $111,434.72 in back wages and penalties as she slaved away from May 2013 to October 2014.
Byndloss consistently worked more than 40 hours per week at the couple’s Gramercy town house and their Riverdale co-op, court papers state.
“The complaint alleges an all-too-familiar theme: powerful people flouting the law while cheating their hard-working employee,” said Byndloss’ attorneys, Michael Borrelli and Alexander Coleman.
The Missonis’ attorney, Matthew Miklave, did not respond to requests for comment.
