Students' body seeks ouster of Arunachal governor
ITANAGAR: The All Nyishi Students' Union (Ansu) has given 10 days time to the state government, demanding immediate recall of governor JP Rajkhowa for his recent 'anti-Arunachal' statements.
Casting doubts over the governor's integrity, Ansu general secretary Nyanya Gollo, in a statement on Wednesday, said continuation of governor in the state will be detrimental for a peaceful solution to the Assam-Arunachal dispute.

Gollo also condemned the alleged statement of Tamiyo Taga, suggesting the Centre to abandon the Hollongi airport and instead upgrade the Lilabari airport in Assam.
While condemning another recent statement made by MLA Tamiyo Taga alleging the involvement of Speaker Nabam Rebia in the Tarasso firing incident, Ansu president Byabang Joram termed the allegations as baseless and demanded an apology.
"The issue concerns the state's security. Hence, no one should come up with such baseless allegations which may harm the peace and security of the two states," said Joram. He added that the MLA should be held responsible if any untoward incident takes place.
Referring to the 4-laning of NH-415, Joram accused the central government of politicizing the vital issue at the cost of the state's development by returning the unapproved compensation estimates submitted by the state government thrice.
He said the union has also met Union minister of state for home affairs Kiren Rijiju many times but the Centre is yet to sanction funds for the project.
