Keeping Cristiano Ronaldo happy could be key to Rafael Benitez's future at Real Madrid.
That's the view of the Soccer Special panel, who debated the forward's relationship with his boss amid continued talk of tension.
Benitez denied any rift with Ronaldo following his side's 4-0 thrashing by Barcelona but reports in Spain say the Spaniard has held "clear-the-air" talks with key players since Saturday's humbling.
Speaking ahead of Real's 4-3 Champions League win over Shakhtar Donetsk, Matt Le Tissier, Alan McInally, Niall Quinn and Paul Walsh debated the player's dressing-room influence - and whether he might yet return to Manchester United.
"Ronaldo's the man at Real Madrid," Le Tissier said.
"Players should respect the managers but with what he's done at Real Madrid and the influence he's had over the last few years, I'd imagine if you're the manager at Real Madrid, you have to do everything in your power to keep him on your side."
