Stealth destroyer INS Kochi is on its maiden visit to its namesake city in connection with the Navy Week celebrations.

The brand new ship of the Navy, a Kolkata-class behemoth, was inducted into service in September this year. The ship and its crew will now be put through their paces by the Flag Officer Sea Training (FOST) before the ship takes part in the Operational Demonstration (Ops demo) organised by the Southern Naval Command in the shipping channel abutting Rajendra Maidan on December 6.

Fast attack vessels

As part of the Navy Week festivities, fast attack vessels INS Kabra and INS Kalpeni are berthed at Kollam, welcoming local people on board.
