JAIPUR: BJP's national vice-president and in-charge of party affairs in Uttar Pradesh Om Prakash Mathur on Wednesday claimed that Aamir Khan's recent remarks on intolerance were a conspiracy against the Narendra Modi government.
The Narendra Modi government is immensely popular and such remarks are made to malign its image. They are part of a conspiracy against the Modi government,'' said Mathur,.
He was interacting with the media after his meeting with Governor Kalyan Singh, which he termed as a courtesy call. '"The governor is a long-time friend and from time to time, I seek his guidance from time to time, particularly as I look after the party affairs in UP,'' he said.
Meanwhile, the state BJP, much like the state government, is gearing up for the second anniversary celebrations of the Vasundhara Raje. State president Ashok Parnami on Wednesday presided over a meeting at the state BJP headquarters, which was attended by state party in-charge V Satish along with cabinet ministers Rajendra Rathore and Yunus Khan.
Rathore said that several thousand gram sabhas would be held across the state. The focus on the second anniversary is employment and development,'' he said. The state government has directed the officials of all its departments to prepare a document highlighting the achievements.
