NAGPUR: International working president of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), Pravin Togadia, has come down squarely on Bollywood stars Shahruklh Khan and Aamir Khan for claiming that there was atmosphere of intolerance and insecurity in India.
Togadiya who was here on Tuesday said : “Both these actors do not have any love for their motherland otherwise they would not have made such unpatriotic remarks.”
Referring to Aamir Khan’s remarks on religious intolerance in the country that led his wife to consider the option of leaving India and settling somewhere else to secure a better future for their child, he said the Khans response was in stark contrast to that of the late Colonel Santosh Mahadik’s widow.
She recently lost her Army officer husband in Kashmir infiltration, yet she was brave enough to announce that she would willingly offer her daughter and son in country’s service as military doctor and commando.
Togadiya, who was apparently reined-in by the RSS bosses from his vitriolic outbursts for last couple of years, was back to his old ways. “Time has come for the government to bring a law in Parliament to facilitate building of temple at Ayodhya,” he said. “When the then prime minister Rajiv Gandhi could set aside Supreme Court verdict in Shah Bano case to appease a small section of society, the government can enact law for creation of temple for Lord Rama who is revered by crores of people,” said the VHP leader.
