Probe into Ashley Road Kids Club allegation in Aberdeen

Police are investigating following an alleged incident at an after-school club in Aberdeen, BBC Scotland has learned.

A letter has been sent to parents of children at the Ashley Road Kids Club (ARK) - which caters for primary age children - informing them of the move.

A member of staff had been suspended pending the investigation.

Police Scotland and the Care Inspectorate have both been informed.

Police Scotland said inquires were at an early stage.

A spokesperson for the Care Inspectorate said: "Ashley Road Kids Club have notified us of an incident at the after-school club.

"The care service has taken the appropriate action and contacted relevant agencies.

"We are working closely with Police Scotland and the service to ensure that all children are safe.

"Anyone with a concern can contact our helpline on 0345 600 9527."
