HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team (3-1, 0-0 Big West) hosts the 2015 Waikiki Beach Marriott Rainbow Wahine Showdown, Nov. 27-29 at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Basketball fans will get a chance to see the Rainbow Wahine face some of the nation's top teams from CSU Bakersfield of the Western Athletic Conference, Arizona State of the Pac-12, and No. 2 South Carolina of the Southeastern Conference.
UH comes off of a 1-1 weekend hosting the Bank of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine Classic, defeating Loyola Marymount, 65-51 but suffering its' first loss of the season to Washington State, 52-62. Senior
Connie Morris, who led the 'Bows with a season-high 16-points against LMU, and junior
Briana Harris, who recorded 19 points and three treys against WSU, were both named to the all-tournament team.
The Rainbow Wahine open the tournament on Friday, Nov. 20 against CSU Bakersifeld at 5:00 p.m., followed by Arizona State, Nov. 28 at 4:00 p.m. for "Dad & Daughter Night," with an autograph session to follow and will conclude play against South Carolina on Nov. 29 at 5:00 p.m. All games will be played at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Hawai'i trails 1-2 in the series against CSU Bakersfield. The Rainbow Wahine faced the Roadrunners just last season in Bakersfield, Calif., falling short 69-78 on Dec. 13, 2014. When UH hosted CSUB back in 2010, the Rainbow Wahine picked up their only win over the Roadrunners 84-74.
UH is 0-4 all-time against Arizona State. In their last meeting on Nov. 9, 2013, the Rainbow Wahine fell 44-84 to ASU in Tempe, Ariz., suffering their largest margin of defeat against the Sun Devils to date.
South Carolina leads the series 3-0 over UH. The Rainbow Wahine have hosted the Gamecocks in all three meetings and haven't faced SC since Nov. 25, 1990, where they lost 61-81.

Promotions: The Waikiki Beach Marriott is the tournament sponsor and will award a two-night stay in an ocean-view room and dinner buffet for two during the halftime contest at each UH game. Also, the Waikiki Beach Marriott will award dinner buffets to "Lucky Seat" winners throughout the tournament. Fans can register to participate at the sports marketing table near Gate A.
Television: UH's games vs. South Carolina will be televised live statewide on
OCSports -Channels 16 (SD) and 1016 (HD). Jim Leahey (play-by-play) and Lori Santi (color) will be handling the broadcast duties.
