Good morning! Here's what you need to know.

The mastermind of the Paris attacks was planning to hit France's financial centre. Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the man believed to have planned the November 13 Paris attacks, had planned to carry out another suicide bombing days later in the French capital's business district, La Defense, on November 18 or 19, the Paris prosecutor said.

NATO is urging calm. NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg said that the military alliance stands by key ally Turkey after it shot down a Russia fighter jet on the Syrian border but urged both sides to try to calm the crisis.

UK Chancellor George Osborne will give his Autumn Statement. Osborne and the UK Treasury will give a five-year forecast of how it will spend around £4 trillion of taxpayers' money. Deep spending cuts are expected as Osborne attempts to balance the government's books.

Pharmaceutical giant Shire is making a move for Baxalta. The company is preparing to make a new takeover offer for US biotech firm Baxalta, almost four months after Baxalta rejected an unsolicited $30 billion (£20 billion) offer that it said significantly undervalued the company.

China is investing in Europe. China proposed opening a fund for projects in central and eastern Europe, Premier Li Keqiang, extending the Asian giant's global reach as it flexes its economic muscles.

Armed men took hostages in a French suburb. The men took hostages after gun shots were fired in the northern French town of Roubaix. It was not immediately clear whether the gunmen were linked to the attacks in Paris.

The US and France warned against escalating war. France and the United States joined NATO and the United Nations in calling for a de-escalation of tensions after Turkey shot down a Russian war plane over its volatile border with Syria.

Volkswagen employees are being probed by tax authorities. Five members of staff at VW are under investigation for tax evasion in a case linked to the German company's massive emissions cheating scandal, prosecutors said.

The US economy is outpacing analysts' expectations. The US economy grew more than expected in the third quarter, according to revised data from the Commerce Department, rising at an annual rate of 2.1%, stronger than the 1.5% pace initially estimated.

Obama will meet with the leaders of India and ChinaUS President Barack Obama will meet with China's president and India's prime minister on the first day of Paris climate talks on Nov. 30 to give momentum to the two-week U.N. negotiations, White House officials said.
