ALL is on course for the CAPS United corporate dinner to be held in Harare on Friday night with about half of the tables already paid for.

CAPS United marketing board member Alois Bunjira said it is going to be a night with a difference which can herald a new chapter in Zimbabwe football.

“So far we have 100 chairs paid for, of the expected 200. Many other people have made an undertaking to pay tomorrow. We need a maximum of 250 people, which includes non-paying officials, players, technical team and media.

“The main speaker on the night is business consultant Gabriel Chipara who will be speaking on how business and sport/football work together to make money and maximise on their brand awareness and loyalty.

“We want to move away from the perception that businesses come into football to donate money, but in fact they should come in to make money as partners of football.

“The president of the club (Farai Jere) will also speak on marketing and possible opportunities to partner football clubs,” said Bunjira.

Bunjira said companies would be allowed to advertise their products on the night.

“It is a marketing and networking platform for different companies that will attend. We expect every company to bring their marketing and advertising material to the function.

“We will play their adverts using our projector if they bring their discs.

“We are also going to have everyone and every company representative interviewed and filmed. We will then produce a DVD of the event and give to every guest.

“It will be a red carpet event where we expect guests to come dressed to kill and have fun.

“We are bringing Hollywood to Harare and it is a first of its kind in Zimbabwe and we want to make it an annual event.

“While the event is hosted by CAPS United, it is for everyone be it a company or a club.

“Basically, we will be sharing ideas. What works for CAPS United works for any sporting team and any business,” said Bunjira.

There will also be entertainment on the night with Cindy Munyavi and African Destiny expected to perform.
