November 25, 2015 12:00 am | Updated November 26, 2015 12:41 pm IST - KHAMMAM:

The traffic wing of the town police has decided to make use of WhatsApp, the instant messaging app, to check traffic violations, particularly the rampant menace of unauthorised parking in the town.

The traffic police on Monday issued fresh guidelines for parking of vehicles in specified places in some of the busy areas, including Kaman Bazaar, Kasba Bazaar and Railway Station Road.

Registration of complaints

People can register their complaints against unauthorised parking of vehicles and other traffic violations through WhatsApp number 94409 04889, said P. Naresh Reddy, Inspector of Police (Traffic).

In a statement, he said images and video-clippings of the vehicles parked in unauthorised areas such as ‘no parking’ zones can be sent through WhatsApp.
