Man shot dead by Naxals in Gadchiroli

Nagpur: Vinay Mistry (28) working at grocery retailer’s outlet, was shot dead at Murumgaon in Dhanora tehsil of Gadchiroli by an action team of Naxals on Tuesday. The incident happened shortly after the local weekly market was wrapped up. The location where the murder took place is close to Chattishgarh-Maharashtra border.
It’s learnt that the members of the action team of around six members, targeted Mistry after barging into the shop owned by the victim’s employer Vyankatesh Ahirwar.The Naxals were said to be upset with Ahirwar, who was also a contractor for not complying to their demands. The police bandobast, which keeps vigil on markets had just returned to their post of Murumgaon when the Naxals struck at a distance not too far from the security base camp. As of now, police have denied that Mistry was associated with the security department in any way.
