GCC man gets 4 years in jail for drug abuse

The Fujairah Criminal Court on Tuesday sentenced a GCC citizen to four years in jail for possessing and consuming hashish.
According to court records, security agencies at the Fujairah Police were tipped off by a reliable source that M.A.H, aged 24, possessed a quantity of hashish.
The police obtained an arrest warrant from the public prosecution and a police patrol pulled him over while he was driving on a Fujairah street.
On searching his car, the police found a quantity of hashish with him. M.A.H confessed that the drug was for his personal use. His urine samples also tested positive for drug use.
He was referred to the public prosecution which accused him of taking drugs, and ordered him to be sent to the criminal court, which pronounced him guilty of possessing and consuming drugs.
