A fancy dress competition was organised on the third day of the district-level Red Cross Mela today. Students from several schools took part in the competition based on ‘Meri Laadli’ theme.

Anushka Pandey of DAV Public School stood first, Tejswani of Government Central Primary School stood second and Muskan of Guru Gobind Singh Public High School bagged the third prize. Yana, Trisha and Apporva got the consolation prizes.

Hospital Welfare Department president Snehal Kadam said the campaign was launched to balance the dwindling gender ratio.

Female foeticide was the root cause of the imbalance in the gender ratio, she said. The aim of the campaign was to put an end to social evils such as female foeticide,” she said. She distributed prizes among the winners.
