Milton town administrator retiring

Milton Town Administrator Annemarie Fagan is retiring in June 2016 after three years in the job and more than 20 years of service to the town.

“She’s leaving for personal reasons – for better work-life balance – and we’re sad to see her go,” said Selectwoman Kathleen Conlon. “I don’t think the residents realize how hard she works, and how much she does.”

Conlon said the board will appoint a search committee to fill the position – which is scheduled to take on more duties and authority under legislation endorsed by Town Meeting and pending at the State House.

Fagan was assistant town administrator for 12 years before moving up to interim town administrator when Kevin Mearn’s contract was not renewed in 2012. She was appointed to the permanent position in 2013. She has worked for the town in various positions since 1995.

“We’ll be very sad to see her go,” Conlon said, adding that the board has “a good amount of time to handle the transition.”
