Adele's 'Hello' Still At Number One, While Alessia Cara Breaks Into The Top Ten

Adele’s “Hello” leads the singles chart this week for a fourth consecutive frame, and the song isn’t likely to disappear anytime soon. The track appeals to many different demographics, and it takes time to reach all of them, propelling its stay at the top. “Hello” is performing especially well on radio stations across the country, and it seems like every week it overtakes some new Billboard chart, proving that it has plenty of life left in it. The single will also likely continue to sell and be played thanks to the attention its accompanying album 25 is receiving.

Justin Bieber’s hit “Sorry” is back at number two this week, a spot it has occupied before. The track originally debuted in the runner up position a few weeks ago, right behind Adele’s still-reigning “Hello”. Since then, it has remained within the top five, and with any luck it may follow prior release “What Do You Mean?” and hit the top spot....once Adele is done with it. Behind Bieber is Drake and his almost-number one “Hotline Bling”, which may finally be descending on the charts after many weeks at number two.

Impressively, Bieber occupies positions number four and five as well this week, thanks to his exceedingly-popular new album Purpose. New cut “Love Yourself” has debuted at number four, while former chart leader “What Do You Mean?” is still hanging on at number five. As reported, these are just three of the seventeen total positions that Bieber controls on the Hot 100.

The rest of the top ten is fairly stationary, with plenty of songs that have spent a good amount of time within the upper end of the chart. At number six is The Weeknd’s “The Hills”, at number seven is Shawn Mendes’ “Stitches”, at number eight is Fetty Wap’s “679 (ft. Remy Boyz)”, and Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” pulls up the rear at number nine.

Newcomer Alessia Cara has finally broken into the top ten this week with her debut smash “Here”, which is turning out to be one of the surprise hits of the year. The song has taken its time to get to where it is, but lately it seems to be on an unstoppable rise to the top. Cara released her debut full length album Know-It-All last week, and the record just debuted within the top ten on the album’s chart.
