Man died of heart failure, wife committed suicide

In a tragic incident, a 36 year old woman committed suicide after jumping off from the 8th floor from Prateek Laurel society in Sector 120 in Noida on Tuesday, the police said that victim’s husband early in the day had died of heart attack.

NOIDA: In a tragic incident, a 36 year old woman committed suicide after jumping off from the 8th floor from Prateek Laurel society in Sector 120 in Noida on Tuesday, the police said that victim’s husband early in the day had died of heart attack. She could not control her emotions and jumped from the balcony of her flat.
According to information, the deceased has been identified as Monika Agarwal (36).
“Monika jumped from 8th floor Prateek Laurel society in Sector 120 after death of her husband Anurag Aggarwal, 39, who died in the morning in Fortis hospital in sector 62 due to heart Attack.
Anurag was working in Tech Mahindra Noida as a software engineer. The couple is survived by a 6 year old girl child,” said deputy superintendent of police Anurag Singh.
On explaining the details, Prateek Laurel apartment owners association president and family friend of the deceased Sanjeev Singh told TOI that the victim jumped off from the 8th floor at 2.40pm. “On Tuesday morning at 6.30am, Anurag complained of chest pain. He was rushed to Fortis hospital. The doctors told that he has suffered heart attack. He had blood pressure problem. At 11 am, the doctors declared him dead,” Singh said.
“The couple had dropped their daughter to a neighbour’s residence.
Monika was also in the hospital with Anurag. Once Anurag declared dead, Monika returned home to make arrangements of last rites. She returned home. At the time of incident, her sister’s father-in-law was also in the flat. She locked the room gate and went to the balcony and jumped off from it,” Singh said that the couple had shifted the society one and a half year ago.

“Monika jumped off at 2.40pm. As residents and security realized the incident, they rushed to the scene and found her in pool of blood. She was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where during course of treatment declared dead around 3.30pm,” Singh further said that since morning Monika did not meet her daughter, who studies in a private college in Noida.
“She could have changed her decision of taking extreme step, if meet her daughter but her daughter was at neighbour’s flat. Now their daughter has been shifted to one of relative in Indirapuram. The police reached the scene and conduct further formalities,” said another resident.
Residents in shock
The residents are in shock with rampant crime and tragic incidents reported in the society. “The resident had started living in the society nearly two and a half years ago. In the last one and a half year several crime incidents, and half a dozen prominent incidents have been reported in the society,” said Prateek Laurel AOA president Sanjeev Singh.
There are 1530 flats in the society and 1300 families are presently living in the society. The rampant incidents in Prateek Laurel society has triggered panic among the residents in the society. The residents blame that the security, too, of the society is not up to the mark.
“Residents in April, 2013 had started shifting to Prateek Laurel society. In just one year series of crime and mishapening have taken place. Apart from double murder in past, a series of burglaries had taken. Then a man had electrocuted to death when he was installing air conditioner and a woman had committed suicide. We, residents want proper security,” said Singh.
