Abdul Gani Kholi reviews status of Rs 178 Cr road projects of Kalakote

The Minister for Transport, Abdul Gani Kholi reviewed the progress of road projects coming up under PMGSY in Kalakote constituency costing Rs 178 crore, here at an officer meeting.Chief Engineer, PMGSY Abdul Hamid Sheikh, Superintending Engineer, Jammu Sita Ram Dogra, Executive Engineer Budhal Zubair Ahmad and Executive Engineer Rajouri Shabir Ahmad and other officers were present in the meeting.The meeting was informed that projects once completed will provide road connectivity to 37 habitations while 21 roads and one bridge is part of these projects. 17 road projects costing Rs 58 crore stands already completed provided road connectivity to about 25 habitations of the constituency, the meeting was told. The meeting was told that all left over habitations coming under core network have also been covered under network programme.

The Minister directed the officers to gear up their men and machinery to ensure time bound completion of the ongoing works adding that strict monitoring should be kept to maintain quality of works and make judicious use of funds.”Government’s priority is to connect the rural areas with urban areas for their speedy social-economic development   and concerted efforts are afoot to create durable assets for the people of the State”, Kholi stressed. Kohli directed the concerned departments to work in synergy to remove the bottlenecks impeding the execution of the projects so that the timelines fixed are strictly adhered to. The Minister also took a comprehensive review of the works on Koticharwal and Narala roads being executed under PMGSY. The concerned officers apprised the Minister that Dangri-Argi, Reda-Kag, Jangral-Pradu,Pattira-Goma, Chingus-Ranibatura and Potha-Androola roads will be completed during this fiscal. The Minister also instructed the concerned for early completion of Badhal-Gondi road which was damaged due to rains and landslides.
