Pakistan Cricket Board gets its government's nod for series against India
India and Pakistan are likely to play a short limited overs series in Sri Lanka from December 15-31.
The Pakistan Cricket Board on Tuesday got a green signal from the Pakistan government to play a bilateral series against India, sources said. Sri Lanka Cricket has been requested by the PCB and BCCI to host the arch-rivals from December 15-31 for three ODIs and two T20 Internationals.
Colombo and Kandy are being looked at as two possible venues for the short limited-overs series.

India were originally scheduled to play Pakistan in a full-fledged series, involving Tests, ODIs and T20 Internationals. But the BCCI refused to travel to the middle-east and Pakistan refused the Indian board's offer to play in India. Subsequently, the chiefs of the two boards - Shashank Manohar and Shaharyar Khan met in Dubai on Sunday. Sources who attended the meeting called it 'fruitful'.
A clear picture will emerge on the series will only emerge on Friday but the Pakistan government's nod is certainly good news. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is Patron-in-Chief of the PCB.
