With Punjabi musicians Hari and Sukhmani, and Sonam Kalra and The Sufi Gospel Project, performing on Days 2 and 3 of the Gurgaon Utsav, the excitement about the festival was at an all-time high. The three-day festival was organised by the Arts and Literature Foundation and Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon, in collaboration with Haryana’s Department of Cultural Affairs and in association with the Times of India.
Held at the Aravalli Biodiversity Park amphitheatre in a cozy set-up, Hari and Sukhmani began their performance with a mellow vibe, making their gig a pleasant and easy-going affair. Apart from songs like Madhaniya, Boohey Bariyan, Heer, Tareyaan and In Aankhon Ki Masti, they were also open to requests from the audience.
Sapna Gupta, a college student who turned up with her family, told us, “This was the perfect gig to come to with your family because everyone is able to enjoy their music. Also, the weather, which is slightly chilly right now, and the beautiful location made it even more enjoyable.” The audience remained enchanted on the third day of the festival, when The Sufi Gospel Project came to perform.
