New Delhi, Nov 24: If reports are to be believed Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI is planning a key role to help al-Qaeda's Indian subcontinent wing, AQIS to execute its plans in India.

AQIS lacks support in India and it may be dependent on Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) or Indian Mujahideen (IM) for ground support. For getting support either from LeT or IM it needed clearance from ISI, reported the Times of India citing sources.

The sources claimed that ISI will have no problem in extending help to AQIS currently as it can easily disassociate itself from any strikes the organization carries out.

Ansar-ul-Tawhid Fi Bilad Al Hind (AuT), an offshoot of Indian Mujahideen based in Af-Pak region is not likely to support the AQIS as the group has been slammed by ISIS. AuT launched a few years ago pledged its allegiance to IS last year.

The group is also not likely to get support from SIMI either as IS seems to have tapped them already. A SIMI member was recently detained in Dubai for IS-related activities. However SIMI's most of the members are behind the bars.

The report claimed that AQIS may get support from IM as various rebellions of the group have joined AuT in order to join IS and fight in Syria.

Bada Sajid an IM operative who orchestrated the 2008 serial blasts which claimed lives of 166 people in Delhi Jaipur and Ahmedabad was killed fighting in Syria in May this year.

LeT rebuked by ISIS may also extend its support AQIS. Azam Cheema led LeT faction is learnt to be close to AQIS chief Maulana Umar.

According to reports, AQIS may first focus on strengthening its foot hold in India before asking for help from splinter groups of POK and other regions.
