Congress party will launch a post-card campaign by sending scores of cards to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao demanding the implementation of his promise on 12 per cent reservation for Muslim minorities in education institutes and jobs.
Disclosing this at a press conference here on Monday, the TPCC spokesman B. Mahesh Kumar Goud accused the Chief Minister of keeping silent on the execution of his core promises such as double-bedroom houses, three acre land to each Dalit family, at least one job in each household and so on after coming to power.
To begin with, the post-card movement would be launched in the town on Tuesday and later extended to all constituencies, he said, claiming that it was his party which implemented four per cent reservations in jobs and education to Muslims. The present government lacked seriousness, therefore it was not taking steps on Muslim reservations, he added.
Mr. Mahesh said that the Congress party warned against the impending problem of drinking water in the district headquarters town some 25 days ago, with the fast depletion of water level in Ali Sagar reservoir and complete dry condition of Raghunath tank, the major sources of drinking water. However, the authorities did not take any measures to overcome the problem which seems to get aggravated in the coming months, he said.
Party president Kesa Venu was also present.
