Two volunteers and programme director from St. Anns College affiliated to Andhra University have bagged NSS national level awards. The three members received the awards from President Pranab Mukherjee on November 19.
The awardees included NSS programme director, St. Anns College, E.P.S. Bhagyalakshmi and NSS volunteers M. Chunti and S. Indraja. All the three are from the AU NSS wing.
Addressing the newsmen here on Monday, Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G.S.N. Raju said that Bhagyalakshmi received a cash prize of Rs. 70,000, certificate and a medal and Chunti and Indraja, who won awards in the best volunteers category, received a cash award of Rs. 50,000 each, certificates and medals. Prof. G.S.N. Raju also said that the NSS wing of AU has been bagging awards for couple of years.
