Some unidentified persons made an unsuccessful attempt to loot an ATM of the Bank of Baroda in the nearby Mauli village on Sunday night. The police said the accused miscreants entered in the ATM booth after breaking locks of an iron gate and a wall of the Bank Manager’s office. A case has been registered.

Flesh trade racket busted
With the arrest of four women and eight men, the Chhajli police “unearthed” an alleged “flesh trade racket” at Changaliwala village (near Lehragaga). They were on Monday produced in a court at Sunam that remanded them in judicial custody till December 7. The police said the woman, who ran the brothel at her house in Changaliwala, and her accomplice were absconding.

More services under PLA
The state government through a notification had brought more public utility services under the Permanent Lok Adalat (PLA), said Inderjit Kaushik, chairman, Permanent Lok Adalat, Fatehgarh Sahib. He said now, services related to banking, insurance, power, water supply, sanitation, hospital, immigration, education, LPG supply, banking, finance, Aadhaar cards, ration cards, voter cards, shagun schemes, old age pensions etc were also under its ambit.

Man found dead
Ex-servicemen Bhag Singh (75) was found murdered in Puhlo Majra village in the Khamanon sub-division of Fatehgarh Sahib district on Monday. Victim’s brother Labh Singh found the body in the fields around 8 am. Deputy Superintendent of Police Ajinder Pal Singh said prima facie, the victim suffered blunt trauma on his head.

7 booked in land-grab case
Seven persons have been booked for allegedly grabbing 4.5 acres of an NRI Gurmeet Singh and allegedly destroying his potato crop at Chuhar Chak village in the district. Six of the accused have been identified as Darshan Singh, Surjit Singh, Harvinder Singh, Lakhwinder Singh, Jaswinder Singh and Lakhi. No one has been arrested so far.

Snatchers target 2 women
Two snatchings were reported in the city on Monday. Car-borne women snatched a gold bangle from Chander Kanta Jasuja near the vegetable market behind the Sadar police station. In another incident, two persons snatched gold ear rings and a purse from Suman Singla near circular road.
