New Delhi: Harmanpreet Singh continued his brilliant run as India thrashed Pakistan 6-2 to clinch the eighth Junior Men's Asia Cup at the Wisma Belia Stadium on Sunday.

Harmanpreet capitalised on the first opportunity where he converted a penalty corner into a goal to give India an early 1-0 lead.

While Harmanpreet went on to score two more goals before the first half to complete his hat-trick, Pakistan could score just one goal in the 28th minute through Yaqoob Muhammad. Leading 3-1 at the start of second half, Indian team went for the kill and scored three more goals while their arch-rivals looked hapless and managed just one more.

The Indian hockey team put up a great show to beat Japan 6-1 in the semi-final and enter the summit clash.

Earlier, India thrashed Oman 9-0 in the quarter-finals. They defeated Japan 2-1 in the opening match and got the better of hosts Malaysia with a thrilling 5-4 win in the next match.
