GURGAON: City kids participated in a walkathon to raise money for children of Syrian refugees in Europe. The 1 km walk on Sunday in Biodiversity Park, culminated in a toy donation drive.
Teesya Vaid, 7, who donated her favourite teddy bear for the cause, said, "We are walking to help refugees and I'm really happy about that fact we could help."
One of the organisers of the walk said, "It's great to see the kids so involved in the cause," said Sandy Hooda, founder, Vega Schools, adding that in today's world, it was important for kids to be in touch with happening around the globe.

About 100 kids, aged between six and nine, participated in the event. "We had an awesome time with friends and our teddy bears. What made it even better is the fact that we are helping kids like us through this walk," said six-year-old Siddhie Bhatia.
Some of the children were excited to be spending time out in nature, even if it meant waking up early on a Sunday. "It was a lovely nature walk. It refreshed our mind as well," said nine-year-old Prateeksha Gupta.
Students from GEMS International School paid tribute to the victims of the Paris terror attacks by presenting a 50-ft-long card to the French ambassador Francois Richier. Anvi Kumar, one of the students, said, "We are really disheartened by the recent attacks that took place in Paris. This is our way of showing solidarity with the victims."
