Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) State secretary M. Swaraj has said that Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan is using the Yogam to facilitate the opening of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) branches across the State.

Mr. Swaraj, who is leading the northern march of the DYFI campaign to uphold secularism, said at a press conference here on Saturday that the DYFI would work for upholding the secular traditions of the State while Mr. Natesan was defending communal forces. He said that while Mr. Natesan was free to join hands with any communal forces, he should not use Sree Narayana Guru for furthering divisive politics. The DYFI leader demanded a probe into the visit of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in the district. A conspiracy to implement the RSS’s communal agenda was behind the visit, he alleged. The DYFI’s secular march, flagged off in Kasaragod, reached the district on November 20. DYFI leaders Muhammad Riyas, P. Santhosh Kumar, Binoy Kuryan and Biju Kandakkai were present.
