Nanak Naam Jahaz Hai (Punjabi), is a 1969 National Award winning Punjabi film directed by Ram Maheshwary,starring Prithviraj Kapoor, I. S. Johar, Nishi and Vimi in lead roles. The devotional film is based on a true incident which took place at Golden Temple, Amritsar.[4] The film was awarded the 1970 National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Punjabi, and National Film Award for Best Music Direction,plus it was the first major hit Punjabi film of post-independent India.
Keeping the theme of the devotional film in mind, the poster was launched at a Gurudwara in Mumbai and celebrities including the likes of Dharmendra, Randeep Hooda, Gulshan Grover,Ms. Avani Modi , Armaan Kohli. .The event had an auspicious beginning, as it started with kirtan and ardaas, post which the celebs unveiled the poster along with Raju Chadda, Chairman, Wave Group and Rahul Mittra, CEO Wave Cinemas, who are re-releasing the movie. Also present at the event was Armaan's mother Nishi Kohli, who played the lead in the National Award-winning film.The Punjabi film is all set to hit the theatres once again on Guru Nanak's Birth Anniversary on November 27.
