Minorities Welfare Day celebrated in Karaikal

Cultural programmes, lectures, and special seminar formed observance of Minorities Welfare Day organised by the Department of Social Welfare as part of National Integration Week celebrations here on Friday. Collector E. Vallavan, who presided, stressed the importance of promoting harmony among the masses.

Liakath Ali, former faculty member, spoke on “Religion and human values”.

P. Sathya, Deputy Director of Social Welfare, spoke on the various welfare measures being implemented by the department for the economic uplift of the minorities communities.
