A 30-year-old woman has reportedly been killed by her in-laws over a family dispute in the Beota area of Doda district. The woman was identified as Zahida Begum, wife of Farid Ahmed of Bheota in Marmat, Doda district.

According to police reports, the incident took place on November 17. Zahida’s brother-in-law thrashed her severely over an alleged family and land dispute, in which she received serious injuries.

The police said the woman succumbed to injuries at the Government Medical College Hospital in Jammu on Thursday evening.

The victim’s family alleged that she was being harassed by her in-laws over various issues since the wedding and they never liked or loved her.
