A. C. Muthiah denies allegations

November 20, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - Chennai:

Industrialist A.C. Muthiah, who was nominated as heir by the Chettinad Group’s ailing patriarch M.A.M. Ramaswamy after the latter fell out with his adopted son M.A.M.R. Muthiah, on Thursday denied allegations that he was seeking to usurp Mr. Ramaswamy’s properties.

Responding to a public notice issued by Mr. Ramaswamy’s disowned foster son wherein he had raised the allegation, Mr. Muthiah, who is the promoter of SPIC, said, “The allegations against me are false, baseless, malicious, scandalous and intended only to tarnish my reputation.”

He called upon Mr. M.A.M.R. Muthiah to withdraw the public notice and the complaint lodged by him. Mr A. C. Muthiah said he would be constrained to initiate legal proceedings against Mr. Ramaswamy’s disowned foster son if the notices were not withdrawn.

MAMR Muthiah has alleged that the SPIC promoter was trying to take advantage of Mr. Ramaswamy’s ill health and some signatures from him with an intention to usurp his wealth. He has reportedly filed a complaint against Mr. Muthiah and two others.
