Mulund West, often known as the ‘Prince of Suburbs’ is located 32 km away from Mumbai towards the north east. It is located at the junction of Thane and Navi Mumbai. Mulund is one of the earliest planned localities present in the city . The region is divided into Mulund East and Mulund West. Mulund West is a serene locality which is bounded by the Sanjay Gandhi National Park in the eastern side.
Accessibility
The locality is well connected by road and rail. The micro market is surrounded by Mulund East, Bhandup, Nahur, Powai and Wagle. The locality has a railway station which is a part of the Central Railway Line. The Mulund Airoli Bridge gives easy access to the Eastern Express Highway and Navi Mumbai. The airport is located 14 km from this locality. The locality can be accessed by bus, slow and semi fast local trains, auto rickshaws, and shared taxis. The area is connected to the Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg (LBS Marg) which goes up till Sion. At present, the metro station which is closest to the area is Ghatkopar which is almost 15 km away. The proposed Line 4 of the metro rail will be laid along Wadala – Ghatkopar – Mulund – Teen Hath Na Ka in Thane – Kasarvadavali. The business hubs of MIDC, SEEPZ, Powai and Bandra-Kurla Complex lie in close proximity to this vicinity. A number of famous industries are located in this area.
