Thanks to spectacular performances by stunning duos, some dance numbers are etched in our memory. Here is a look at Pinga and other memorable dances performed by our Bollywood divas.

Pinga
Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra (Bajirao Mastani 2015)
A classic lavni style dance number, Pinga is making B-town go gaga over Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra. Though many feel it’s not authentic enough, it’s a powerful dance performance by two brilliant dancers, nonetheless.

Girls like to swing
Priyanka Chopra and Anushka Sharma (Dil Dhadakne Do 2015)
Not too long ago, Priyanka was in another similar dance number with Anushka Sharma, Girls like to swing. Though she stepped in only halfway into the song, we did witness a classic retro dance number by the duo.

Dil Mera Muft Ka
Kareena Kapoor Khan and Maryam Zakaria (Agent Vinod 2012)
Mujra and Bollywood have a longstanding relationship, which is why this particular number from Agent Vinod starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Maryam Zakaria was especially memorable. With parfect adayein, have to say the duo nailed it.

Dola re
Madhuri Dixit Nene and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (Devdas 2002)
How can one forget the dance showdown between Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit in Devdas? In a Pinga-like dance sequence these leading ladies danced off to glory leaving awestruck fans asking for more. We only hope Pinga can reach the pinnacles Dola re did.

Dance of envy
Madhuri Dixit Nene and Karisma Kapoor (Dil To Pagal Hai 1997)
Another one with Madhuri, this particular dance showdown between her and Karisma was a delight to watch simply because of the dance form. We had seen Madhuri and Karisma ace Indian dance forms, but only after watching them swing to Dance of envy did we realise how effortlessly could they pull off western dance as well.

Badi mushki
Madhuri Dixit Nene and Manisha Koirala (Lajja 2001)
Manisha Koirala isn’t known for her dancing prowess; hence it must have been nerve-wracking for her to perform alongside Madhuri. You can make even out how Madhuri toned herself down to balance the performance. But judging by the end result, we have to say the duo did a brilliant job.

Barasja ae badal
Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Shamita Shetty (Fareb 2005)
Its not every day that you see two sisters jive to a song in hindi cinema. Hence, it was a delight to watch Shilpa Shetty and Shamita Shetty grove to this catchy number. Their performance was so synchronised that at times it is impossible to tell between the two.

Main Haseena Ghazab Ki
Rekha and Sonu Walia (Khoon bhari maang 1988)
This song between Rekha and Sonu Walia was iconic not so much for the dance but more so for the emotions these two ladies portrayed. Feelings of revenge and anger on one side and decay and defeat on the other, this is a classic example of a showdown.

Aaye Haaye Dilruba
Helen and Vyjayanthimala (Dr. Vidya 1962)
With Helen on one hand and Vyjayanthimala on the other, it’s not hard to imagine what an electrifying shoot this must have been. Notice how neither of them look even a tad insecure in the presence of the other.

Tumko piya dil diya kitne naaz se
Ragini and Helen (Shikari 1963)
Helen is known for her cabaret, and there’s no one who stands a chance next to her. But here we got to see a completely different avatar—dancing gracefully to Indian tunes in ethnic attire.
