CR services hit due to signal failure
MUMBAI: Services on Central Railway were disrupted during the evening peak hour due to signal failure between Matunga and Kurla on Wednesday.
Officials said that the signal failure was rectified within half an hour. “However, it led to bunching of trains and the repercussion will continue till late evening,” an official stated.
This correspondent saw a huge rush of office-goers at CST station, waiting to go back home.
At least four platforms had trains coming in late.
“This is frustrating. All the fast trains during peak hours have been delayed by 15-20 minutes. All of us (office-goers) will reach home late tonight,” said a passenger. The platforms at other stations like Dadar and Kurla were also crowded on the main line. The Harbour line was, however, not affected, the officials added.
Earlier, on Wednesday morning, trains on Central Railway line were running late due to break down of track on up line between Ambivli and Titwala.
