JAISALMER: A family of four of Satyaya village in Jaisalmer, walked down three kilometers only to jump into the Indira Gandhi Canal.
According to police, the family of Satyaya, which is 130 km away from Jaisalmer, left their home on Monday night following an argument. Tanerao's parents were at the fields when the argument erupted and the family left their home.
"The neighbours had heard the couple arguing. The villagers also noticed them leaving the house and walking towards the canal. A few decided to follow but by the time they reached the canal, the family had jumped in," said SP Rajib Pachar.
Pachar said Nachana police on Monday night at 9pm got the information and deputy SP K P Singh along with force and rescue team reached the spot and with the help of villagers started searching the bodies. On Tuesday, all the four bodies were recovered. He said four bodies were handed over after the post-mortem.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the family was not facing any financial crisis and that the couple was married for over 13 years. The villagers claimed there were no obvious disputes between the two. The police is investigating further.
