JAIPUR: Winters have started creeping into the state as many places witnessed a drastic dip in the mercury. There was a dip of almost five degrees in the day temperatures across the state. Churu with 9.2 degrees and Mount Abu with 8 degrees remained coldest in the plains and hills, respectively, in the state, the Met reports said on Tuesday.
Attributing the continued dip in the mercury to the active northerly winds, the Jaipur Met office said the temperatures will further dip across the state in the coming days.

Jaipurites woke up to a comparatively chilly morning as a minimum temperature of 14.6 degrees was recorded in the morning. It was followed by cold afternoon as a maximum temperature of 29.5 degrees was recorded.
Compared to Monday, there was a drop in the minimum and maximum temperatures in the city. Jaipur Met office said that the cold conditions will further aggravate in the state in the coming days.
For the first time in this season so far many places in the state recorded day temperatures below 30 degrees.
Churu and Mount Abu were followed by Sriganganagar where a minimum temperature of 9.6 degrees was recorded, Pilani 12.1, Bikaner 12.5, Jaisalmer 13.8, Jodhpur 14, Barmer 16.8, Udaipur 17, Ajmer 17.7 and a minimum temperature of 20 degree Celsius was recorded in the city.
Jaipur Met office said with the active northerly winds the temperatures across the state will further dip. "In the presence of the mainly clear sky in the coming days temperatures will further dip in the state in the next couple of days. Many places in the western Rajasthan will witness shivering in the next a few days."
