Protesters did not allow Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mantar Singh Brar and SAD MLA from Kotkapura to enter a Government school at Khara village in Kotkapura constituency of Faridkot district on Tuesday morning.
Villagers, unemployed linemen and rice mill workers gheraoed Brar, who had come to distribute bicycles to school girls under the Mai Bhago scheme.
Protesters carrying black flags raised slogans against him and the Punjab Government, and asked him to go back. Police quickly escorted Brar from the spot. He could not distribute the cycles.
Cabinet Minister Sikander Singh Maluka also faced protests in Kotha Guru village of Bathinda district. Maluka was to talk to SAD workers regarding the Sadhbhavna rally to be held in Bathinda on November 23. Farmer unions, however, tried to disrupt the meet. Police cane charged the protesters and arrested around 15 of them.

On Monday Sukhbir Badal had said that he would not tolerate such protests, but it clearly did not deter the protesters.
